Wear-resistant coating "IRIS-CA1"

Slippery properties, low aggressiveness, and anti-adhesion! Introducing wear-resistant coatings for Corson material die-cutting press processing.

The "IRIS-CA1" is a treatment proposed for extending the lifespan of press molds (punches and dies) used for processing Colson materials, which have been struggling with shot counts under harsh conditions in the previous "DLC-IRIS." Due to special conditions, AlCrN can be deposited in a smooth state with surface roughness similar to that of "DLC-IRIS." With a film thickness of 1μm, we have made it possible to deposit AlCrN with a smooth surface roughness, resulting in good adherence to precision parts. (In actual measurements, processing on a mirror test piece with Ra0.011 resulted in Ra0.017.) 【Features】 ■ Measures to extend the lifespan of press molds (punches and dies) for processing Colson materials that have been struggling with shot counts ■ AlCrN can be deposited in a smooth state with surface roughness similar to DLC-IRIS due to special conditions ■ Enables deposition of AlCrN with a smooth surface roughness at a film thickness of 1μm ■ Good adherence to precision parts *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Highly resistant to wear and difficult to peel off, with excellent non-stick properties!

Even when shaved with a drill, it maintains non-stick properties! AS coating video now available【Free samples for the first 20 applicants】

The Japan Foundry Technology Research Institute offers surface treatments that combine blasting, thermal spraying, and special coatings. 【Case Studies for Improvement】 × The non-stick property of fluororesin initially does not stick, but after 2 to 3 weeks, it gradually starts to stick. × Ceramic coatings also have good non-stick properties and high hardness, but the non-stick effect lasts for about a month, and they break easily when objects are dropped or subjected to impact. ↓ When switched to AS coat, ◎ The non-stick property lasts for about 3 months! ◎ The coating does not crack or peel even when hard objects are dropped. ◎ The adhesion of resin is easier to remove compared to fluororesin and ceramic coatings. 【Application Examples】 In cases related to food or where low friction is required, fluororesin coatings or ceramic coatings may still be necessary. In such cases, we also offer AT coat (fluororesin type) and AC coat (ceramic type) that combine our coatings. *You can view the materials via PDF download. Please feel free to contact us.

What is a coating with excellent abrasion resistance? *Product information available.

We will introduce surface treatments suitable for "rough wear" and "thrust wear" among various types of wear.

Wear refers to the phenomenon where one or both of two objects in contact and moving against each other become abraded. There are two main types of wear that can occur in manufacturing environments. One type is "rough wear," which occurs when surfaces are abraded and eroded due to contact with rough surfaces or particulate matter. The other type is "thrust wear," which happens when surfaces adhere due to frictional heat and are worn away by the opposing material. The appropriate surface treatment varies depending on the type of wear. [Selected Coatings] ■ Wear Resistance (Rough Wear) - Urethane Coating ■ Wear Resistance (Thrust Wear) - Bi-Coat *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Coating 'JC Coat PH' that prevents wear and debris adhesion on cutting tools and similar items.

Would you like to solve your issues with "adhesion" and "wear" in the manufacturing process using JC Coat TM?

The original surface treatment (coating) "JC Coat" was born from the surface treatment technology cultivated in electronic component manufacturing. Based on DLC coating*, it is a contract coating that imparts various characteristics through our unique technology, and it is used in printing masks, food manufacturing equipment, and industrial machinery. *DLC coating... stands for diamond-like carbon. JC Coat PH has low adhesion to soft metals and a low wear coefficient, making it a specification with the highest hardness in the series and a wide range of applications. It can accommodate various metals and ceramics, and when there are tools or process line equipment parts that frequently come into contact with soft metals, it strongly supports the reduction of adhesion and the resolution of cleaning issues. 【Features】 ■ No need for redesign considering the coating due to its thin film ■ Strong adhesion to the substrate makes it difficult to peel off, eliminating concerns about foreign matter contamination ■ Has a hardness approximately 4-5 times that of stainless steel ■ Complies with domestic regulations for food contact materials 【Examples of Use】 ■ Food slicing blades: Improved wear resistance ■ Blades for electronic components: Prevention of adhesion to soft metals For more details, please feel free to contact us.

[Problem-Solving Case] Wear Resistance Measures for Aluminum Cylinders

Coating only the inner diameter is necessary! A case where masking was performed for appearance reasons.

We would like to introduce a case that solved the issue of "the material was changed to aluminum for lightweight purposes, but the wear amount is greater than that of iron." The outer diameter could not be modified visually, so no treatment was possible. Therefore, both the inner and outer diameters remained anodized in color, ensuring wear resistance on the inner diameter. By applying the wear-resistant coating MD1900 only to the inner diameter, we improved low friction and wear resistance. The strength of aluminum was also secured with a treatment below 200°C. 【Key Points of Problem Solving】 - For areas that cannot be functionally treated with standard plating or coating, masking is performed. - In this case, masking was done for treatment due to visual reasons. - We selected the most suitable treatment from numerous surface treatment coatings, satisfying both appearance and functionality. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study on Problem Solving] Wear Resistance Between Molds in Resin Extrusion Molding

Achieving lubrication at high temperatures! Examples of wear-resistant coatings contributing to many fields.

We would like to introduce a case that solved the problem of "wear occurring at the sliding parts of stainless steel in high-temperature environments." The mold material is stainless steel, and since the molding temperature is around 300°C, lubricants such as grease cannot be used. Instead, wear resistance was ensured through hard chrome plating, but there was no fundamental solution to the galling of the counterpart material. Therefore, we adopted a high-temperature dry lubrication coating for the sliding parts of the molds. A large amount of molybdenum disulfide was used to form a hard film, achieving lubrication at high temperatures and preventing galling, as well as ensuring wear resistance. [Key Points of Problem Solving] - The wear-resistant coating is formed with solid lubricants such as abundant molybdenum disulfide and a hard engineering plastic. - Although the hardness is only at pencil hardness, it exhibits excellent strength against friction wear under high loads, contributing to many fields, including machine tools. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Problem-Solving Case] Wear Resistance Measures for the Sliding Parts of a Winding Machine

Due to the action of molybdenum disulfide, load-bearing capacity and low friction properties are provided! An example of a wear-resistant coating.

We would like to introduce a case that solved the problem of "increased load on components and accelerated wear due to the high-speed operation of machines." While hard chrome plating and other measures were applied at key points, fundamental wear countermeasures were not implemented, and there were components where maintaining precision was difficult with plating due to strict accuracy requirements. Additionally, the material was SK steel, which required processing at temperatures below 200°C to ensure strength. Therefore, we applied the wear-resistant coating MD2812. Thanks to the abundant molybdenum disulfide, initial wear is reduced, and the use of durable resin ensures low friction. The processing temperature is also below 200°C, so there is no impact on the components. [Key Points of Problem Solving] ■ Just being hard is not enough to prevent wear; this is the fundamental issue. ■ The action of molybdenum disulfide contained in the wear-resistant coating imparts load-bearing capacity and low friction. ■ Molybdenum disulfide transfers to the counterpart, creating an ideal surface condition on the opposing side. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
